They don't call it girl power for nothing.
Don't think we're coming back to MAC next year. This outdoor pool is awesome! So many things for the kids to play on and they even have a big water slide. They have water mushrooms and dumping buckets too. Plenty of shallow water for the little ones. There is a water volleyball net too-great fun! I've been here twice so I far, and I like it!
A basketball court, 2 tennis courts, 3 racquetball courts well more actually but one is a cycling class, and 2 are used for day care , weight room, and cardio machines on the second floor. They've got lockers, showers, and even a snack bar that serves beer! This is a very family friendly athletic club, and I like that. In LA, I find that there are either children's gyms or adult gyms with child care for only 1.
They also have a karate instructor for kids, and what looked like a basketball coach. After taking on the athletic lifestyle, it's important for me to think about how I'll pass that on to my kids, so I thank MAC for encouraging a fit lifestyle for the whole family. They are building a day care section at the front of the gym so that should free up the racquetball courts. It'd be nice if they have another basketball court because that's always the popular thing to do. The equipment is new, not broken, and there are plenty of plates and dumbbells. The place isn't crowded in the sense that all the flat benches are taken or I have to wait for the smith machine which means I can do the exercises when I want without waiting for the equipment to be free.
There aren't many gyms in the area, as compared to other places, but this one does a great job and doesn't make me feel like I'm merely settling because I have no other choice. They also have towel service! And I've always managed to find a parking spot close to the entrance. I have been a member here since the robious sports and fitness days.
I come here for the gym aspect, and what I like about it is that it's smaller and more spaced out. Other places such as gold's gym or amfam try to put as many machines as possible in one room, so when it gets crowded, I feel like an animal in a pack. They just updated several of their treadmills, which I like. To be honest, this place is like home to me, since I've been coming here since forever and so I am a little biased!

The pool is large and beautiful. It seems well maintained and has a nice beach entry for toddlers. My main issue is that they no longer let you bring your own food into the pool area. You are required to purchase their food, which is not the healthiest of options. If you want to eat your own food, they have a single picnic table outside of the pool right next to the parking lot.
I understand not wanting you to bring alcohol into the pool and buy theirs but think they should at least let little kids eat their own food inside the pool area. Gym has all the basic machines you need for a good workout, albeit it is dated. Staff are very friendly. Kids room has limited hours and can get quite busy with large numbers of children pre staff member. The staff in the kid's room are very good with kids. There just aren't many of them. I been a member for a couple months now. I love the outdoor pool since it is big and has a lot for children.

The indoor pool is a typical gym pool. The whole gym is pretty clean. The instructors are nice and always have a ear for your questions. I think they could update some small things here and there but other than that- great gym! Also the kids watch is great, even babies are welcome. Since this is my first review I thought it should fit my New Years resolution goals!
MAC has been perfect for my wife and 5 year old. We all play tennis and love the new indoor courts and being able to play even when it's 30 degrees outside. Great place to meet new tennis friends.

My wife loves the variety of exercise classes and always raves about the "Body Pump" class when she gets home. A big plus is how she feels comfortable leaving our 5 year old in the kids zone. The staff is very engaging and makes our sometimes shy girl feel welcome and involved with activities and fun games.

And this last summer at the pool made us feel like it was a mini-vacation with the great music, slides, and fun. Great club and value, especially compared to the cost of other clubs nearby. Great out door pool area. Not too busy. Price for the membership is high I take my kids to the water park at 10 bucks a head, under 4 is free, once or twice a month beats over for a summer membership.
Located in the heart of Midlothian, the gym is super easy to get to from just about anywhere. Up-to-date equipment and there is a killer hot tub! Can't beat that. The staff is friendly and they provide towels as well. Very affordable rates too. Recommend to all! There seems to be more emphasis on the "club" than the "athletic.

The cardio area upstairs is uncomfortably warm. I understand it gets very hot in the summer, but I have been a member of several gyms including one in South Florida and I've never experienced such poor air conditioning in the cardio area. It makes for a very uncomfortable workout if you plan to do anything more than walking on a treadmill. This is a nice place for the elderly or people with children, but if you want a good workout you should go elsewhere. I had heard from a friend it was worth a second look and it was!
The Midlothian Athletic Club Isn’t Just a Gym.
My family is enjoying the pool this summer more than years past, it is less crowded. The snack bar is better than ever. It is so nice to have water slides to occupy the kids so I can swim laps. My son says the slides are "awesome! The facility inside is fantastic. They have updated the equipment and done a complete renovation. There is something for every member of the family! Let me clarify my review, the club is a decent club, some of the machines need to be updated especially the ellipticals. The counter staff and some of the others are very kind as well.
The problem is this place is a billing nightmare!!! My membership ended and because I now have a local gym, I asked to have my membership not renew as it ended in March. Unfortunately, I was charged for April. I called the Membership office and because she said she showed no proof that I called in, the charge will stand, even though history showed that I did not use the club during that time.
She said that, regardless that did not matter. She said she would ensure my membership be canceled, sent me an email to approve, and we were done.
So I thought, until I received yet another charge the very next month. I have called the membership office leaving several messages for a return call They do not honor their own contracts!! We love the MAC! Not only is the facility beautiful, huge, and incredibly clean, but the staff and trainers are always kind and very willing help. I have taken several personal training classes that were not only challenging but also fun and enjoyable. The indoor and outdoor pools are great for both lap swimming and splashing around with the kids - not to mention the awesome slides!
